Keynotes Storytellers group piano 6 1/2 – 7 yr old Mon 5:30pm

For 6 ½-7 year olds. Fun start to early piano learning and telling stories through music. This group piano class provides interaction with others, learning to play in time with a group, and individualized challenge levels with each piece. Teaches the layout of the keyboard, rhythm, ensemble playing, musical concepts, music reading, and creating.

Songs are designed to help tell a story giving context and meaning to what they are learning. A different folk tale every 9-10 weeks: Goldilocks (Pitch differentiation), Jack & the Beanstalk (scales and dynamics), 3 Little Pigs (rhythm and call & response), Tortoise and the Hare (tempo and time signatures).

Up to 6 children meet for 45 minutes followed by parent or caregiver joining in for short sharing time.
