Violin, Viola, and Cello Teachers

Yoshiko Kunimitsu
Violin
Yoshiko received her Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music, Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and also received additional training at the Universitat Mozarteum in Salzburg Austria. During her formative years, her summers were spent at Aspen Music Festival and School, National Repertory Orchestra, American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and the Round Top Music Festival in Texas. In addition to maintaining a private studio in the South Dayton area, she is also a member of the Dayton Philharmonic and is owner operator of the Rosé Trio. She considers teaching to be her true calling – her top students have gone on to pursue music professionally. They have also won competitions at various levels and have won competitive audition titled chair positions in local youth orchestras.

Ava Denault
Violin
Ava holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with Elementary Education teaching experience. Ava is very patient teacher and is great with the beginning student.

Alice Tatum
Viola/violin
Alice holds a Masters degree in Music Education. She has over 20 years of experience teaching music in public schools and in private lessons. Alice has many years of experience performing with area symphony orchestras and is currently an active member of the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra.

Christopher Pacleb
Viola/violin
Mr. Pacleb is a graduate of Miami University in Viola Performance. Christopher has been an award winning performer since High School. He was awarded the Viola Studio Honors Award as a Highschool freshman, the Michael T Mangan Award for Commitment to Excellence as a Highschool Junior, and the National School Orchestra Ward as a Highschool Senior. In college, he was the MU Concerto Copetition Finalist as a Freshman and the winner as a Sophmore. He was the 1st prize winner of the Geoffrey P Hall Undergraduate Artist Competition his senior year of college. Mr. Pacleb enjoys giving back to his church as a musician. As a teacher, he focuses on pitch and tone so his students learn to produce beautiful sound. He also uses body movements to help students better understand rhythm and divided beat.

Ann Uhlenhake
Cello
Ann earned her graduate degree in cello performance from Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. She has performed for several Orchestras in Pensylvania, New Mexico, California, and New York. Most recently, she is a member of the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra as well as wedding quartets and trios.
